Why Lie About Finding My Blog?
So, the dating thing isn’t going all that well in India. It’s tough to meet someone who fits your desired lifelong partner even in India. There’s always something not right, either with them or with me.
Recently, I had a girl contact me on one of the popular matrimonial sites. I had just the week before decided I was going to put this search on hold. Her writeup seemed interesting. I accepted. Usually at this point, as weird as it is, most people don’t go any further. They just don’t get in touch when either you accept their request or they accept your request. It’s kinda lame. But this girl got in touch right away via SMS, which made it easy for me to respond. So I did.
I met her recently (no, I didn’t write about it earlier!). I won’t give away my thoughts of her but I want to share something else so you’ll understand the post’s title. She brought up blogs and asked if I had one. Apparently, she thought I’d be the kind of person who would write a blog. I told her I did have one. She asked me the name of it and I told her I wasn’t comfortable with telling her.
That would have probably ended the issue right there except she is reading my blog and bringing up topics from it. I’ve asked her a couple of times now about it. She says she doesn’t know about my blog. Yet the content of our conversations have, on occassion, very carefully reflected minor aspects of my posts.
Now, normally it wouldn’t be a big deal if someone decided to search for a potential marriage partner’s blog, found it, read it, and then mentioned it. It’s a bit weird though when the person decides not to inform you she’s reading it, even after being asked. Why would you lie about something so silly?
