The Week
This week I put in 15 hours, 16 hours, 15 hours from Wednesday on. I can’t remember what I did on Monday and Tuesday. That seems so far away already.
It bears pointing out that I really do love the work that I am doing right now. I believe I have found something I could do for the rest of my life. It’s just a question of can it meet my financial concerns. I’m not looking to make big bucks, but I absolutely do want to be comfortable as well. All part of the plan that will start taking more active shape now with March rolling in.
On another matter – I am in a state of confusion. My cigar friend and I were talking early in the week. I had called her a couple of days in a row. I think on Monday or Tuesday, she said she’d call me back later. But then she never did. I’m not clear yet on her signals, so I don’t know if she was brushing me off or got busy or worse yet actually meant for me to call her. This happens I think at times. You tell people you will call them but then you think why haven’t they called you? It’s a result of that awkward stage. Once you know people enough, then it doesn’t matter. Then you can call them up and yell at them (figuratively speaking….well, maybe not!
) for not calling you back. I guess it’s a pet peeve.
From when we were living in Cali, one of my mom’s good friend’s daughter was visiting in India. She just finished med school in December and has a few months before starting residency in June/July. So she’s trekking parts of the world – India and China to be precise, if not other places. Her and her friend came in to Delhi yesterday evening from Benaras (flying from Varanasi). It’s nice to see people again you didn’t exactly grow up with but you knew as a kid and hadn’t seen in forever. This girl is my sister’s age and they used to hang out and have slumber parties all the time. I remember her and her little brother from way back then. She’s finishing med school and he’s starting college! Amazing stuff, isn’t it?
